About Learnimals
Learnimals is an independent app: it is made by a parent, not by a studio with a content department. This page says who is behind it, what is actually inside, and where to find it on the App Store.
Who makes it
I am the developer of Learnimals, and I am a parent. There is no marketing team and no outsourced help desk: the same person writes the code, prepares the updates and answers the email.
I publish two apps for children: Learnimals — letters, numbers, colors and shapes for ages 2–6 — and LeoFind, a spot-the-difference game for ages 4–9.
The app is tested with children, not only in a simulator. The line “tested with kids” on the home page is meant literally.
What is actually inside
Learnimals teaches four categories to children aged 2 to 6: letters, numbers, colors and shapes. Every word is spoken aloud, in all four languages.
- Four languages — English, Russian, French and Spanish: interface and audio, not just the menus.
- 665 recorded audio files. Every item has one recording for learning and a separate one for the games, in each language — that is where the number comes from.
- 33 letters in Russian, 26 in the other languages. Cyrillic is a separate alphabet with its own recordings, not a transliteration of the Latin one.
- Numbers 1–9, 12 colors, 14 shapes.
- 7 mini-games, from flashcard review to memory-pair matching.
- 3D number models and AR (Premium): each digit is a model a child can turn around, and place in the room through the camera.
- iPhone and iPad, iOS 17 or newer. Portrait on iPhone, portrait or landscape on iPad.
Free, Premium and ads
All four categories — letters, numbers, colors and shapes — are free, and flashcard learning has no limit at all. Four of the game modes are free too, capped at one play a day, which you can extend by up to three more by watching an ad. Premium removes that cap, adds the two puzzle modes plus the 3D models and AR on numbers, and removes the ads.
Ads exist in the free tier so that the free tier can exist. They are restricted to family-friendly content. Premium shows none at all. Prices are shown inside the app and on its App Store page, so they are always the ones that actually apply in your country.
Finding the app
On the App Store the listing is called Learnimals: ABC Alphabet Game; everywhere else — here, and inside the app — it is just Learnimals. Same app, one set of identifiers:
- App Store ID — 6752865751
- Bundle ID —
